Job Summary: 
Under general supervision by the Guest Services Supervisor II this position is responsible for responding to inquiries, both face-to-face and on the phone, about Canterbury Park programs and activities in a courteous and professional manner as well as processing a variety of box office sales. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet all guests and direct/assist them as needed.
  • Monitor and log visitor access and maintain security awareness.
  • Answer, screen & direct calls in a polite and efficient manner.
  • Accommodate the needs of all guests within the parameters of policies and procedures; which may include calling for transportation.
  • Solicit and enter personal data into new Player Accounts and print new or replacement MVP card's for players using Bally's CMP.
  • Learn and master functions of the Bally's CMP customer relationship management tools and SRO4, the enterprise ticketing system used for sales and reservations
  • Prepare orders for will call or to be mailed.
  • Process and double check ticket sales for walk-up customers.
  • Charge accurate fees via credit card or cash and make change as needed.
  • Generate and balance individual daily sales report for all transactions.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of office supplies.
  • Read and reference each day's racing schedule, track conditions, Daily Racing Form arrival, Card Casino Tournaments, special events and provide information as requested to callers and visitors.
  • Provide clerical assistance to other departments by completing various projects as requested.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and general appearance of the reception area and surrounding lobby.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Must be able to interact with guests, coworkers, and management in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Strong communication and computer skills required.
  • Must be a team player willing to work with all departments.
  • Canterbury Park conducts pre-employment screening for all positions which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
  • Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of phone system preferred.
